Hi! I'm Sarah, a 26-year-old candle maker with a passion for creativity, adventure, and connection. I've been crafting candles for nearly four years, pouring love and care into every handmade piece. My business, Briarwood Candles, is all about creating non-toxic, pet-safe, and beautifully scented experiences.
When I’m not experimenting with new candle scents, you can usually find me outdoors, whether it’s hiking through nature, exploring new places, or planning my next big adventure. I love traveling and discovering hidden gems along the way. At home, I enjoy hanging out with friends over a cozy board game night—Catan is a favorite!
I also share my space with JD, my 16-year-old tabby cat, who’s been my loyal companion through all of life’s adventures.

Briarwood Candles began as a small passion project, with handwritten labels and a table at local farmers markets.
Over the years, Briarwood Candles has evolved from humble beginnings to a fully professional brand, now featured at large-scale events and in collaborations with incredible businesses and community partners. I’ve had the privilege of working with companies like Angry Orchard Hard Cider, Stamford Florist, Hey Stamford, and The Holiday Wish Express. One of my proudest milestones has been participating in the Connecticut Renaissance Faire—my biggest event to date!
At its core, Briarwood Candles is about more than just candles. It’s about creating warmth, nostalgia, and connection through scent. Whether it’s a cozy evening at home or a unique gift for someone special, every candle is made with intention and care.
